PARIS IN FLOW-STATE
I swore I would never go back to Paris.
The first time I went to Paris, I wasn’t a fan. It felt overrated — crowded, rushed, and not at all the romance I’d imagined. But maybe it wasn’t Paris. Maybe I just wasn’t open enough to receive it back then.
This time, I moved differently. I stayed in flow. I let myself wander without a plan, led with kindness, followed my curiosity — and life brought the magic to me.
On my last night, I stumbled upon the perfect restaurant view — the Eiffel Tower standing tall at the end of a quiet street. There was only one table left. As I waited to be seated, another girl walked up at the exact same moment. Instead of turning away, I offered to share the table. She said yes.
Her name was Ebony.
We sat down as strangers and seven hours later, we were kindred spirits. We laughed over dinner, shared stories, and ate the best strawberries of our lives. We watched the Eiffel Tower twinkle at the top of every hour while we sipped dessert wine at Le Café Marly by the Louvre.
Turns out, we both collect vinyl records. So naturally, we ended the night at a local vinyl bar, listening to music and soaking in the magic of a chance encounter turned instant sisterhood.
It was one of those moments that reminds me:
Be kind. Be curious. Stay in flow. Some of the best moments find you when you least expect them.
Making friends as an adult can be hard. Especially as a Black woman in places that sometimes overlook us — but here’s what I know: we always find each other. Across oceans, over dinner tables, through laughter and good music, we see one another. That’s the real magic.
Thank you, @_ebonyfrancis, for showing me the Paris I didn’t see the first time. I’ll never forget that night.
And if you’re reading this, craving a reset or new connections — keep your heart open. Lead with curiosity. Stay in flow. The right people and moments will find you too.
Cheers,
Tiff
